KL Rahul ruled out of 3rd test | Devdutt Padikkal included as repalcement

In a very unwanted result due to an existing injury (not recovered fully), Mr KL Rahul is ruled out of the important 3rd test match against England at Rajkot and he has been replaced by his fellow state mate Mr Devdutt Padikkal, an elegant left-hander top order batsman from Karnataka.

These two players share the same team, Karnataka and recently Padikkal scored a brilliant century ( 151) against their arch-rival and neighbor state Tamilnadu.

Devdutt Padikkal, the 23-year-old left-hand batter, has so far scored a massive 556 runs in only six innings at a staggering average of 92.66 this Ranji season. He has scored three centuries, with a highest of 193 in the season opener against mighty Punjab. Before his most recent Ranji outing, Padikkal even impressed with scores of 65, 21, and 105 for India A against the touring England Lions in Ahmedabad.

However, we are yet to know the status of the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s fitness, whether he will be able to play at Rajkot or not. However, there are speculations that he may play in 3rd test as the Indian batting lineup is looking very thin on paper after KL Rahul’s exclusion due to injury.

India is right now at 1-1 in a 5 test match series against England. Who is playing fearless cricket under the brand name of “Bazzball Cricket”.

India’s updated squad for the 3rd test:

Rohit Sharma (capt), Jasprit Bumrah (vice-capt), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (wk), KS Bharat (wk), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, Devdutt Padikkal.
